Rehnix

Medical Record Retrieval. Simplified.

Drop the zip file from your records request platform into Rehnix. At your direction, it connects, downloads the records, and saves them in a folder you name. No clunky SFTP software, no manual file-wrangling.

Rehnix confirming a download: the vendor, the server it signed in to, and the records it will save

The problem

Requesting a medical record through a third-party record delivery provider (such as ChartSwap) doesn't end when you pay for it. It ends after you've:

Multiply that by every request your firm makes in a week, and it's hours of paralegal and attorney time spent on file transfer mechanics instead of casework.

ChartSwap is a trademark of RecordXTechnologies, LLC. Rehnix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ChartSwap, RecordXTechnologies, LLC, or Datavant.

  1. 1Located and paid for the record
  2. 2Downloaded an SFTP key delivered as a zip file
  3. 3Installed and opened a clunky, complicated SFTP client just to get one file
  4. 4Extracted the key from the zip
  5. 5Manually connected, downloaded, and renamed the actual record file
  6. 6Repeated all of that โ€” for every single record

The Rehnix solution

Rehnix picks up exactly where the tedious part begins.

You still log into your records request platform, find your record, and pay for it โ€” that step requires your own account and can't be skipped. But once the platform generates your zip file, you're done with its process entirely.

Drop that zip file into Rehnix and press Start. Rehnix reads the key, connects to the provider, and finds the records. Press Download, and they're saved straight to your computer.

No SFTP client to install or configure. No cut-and-paste. Straightforward installation.

The records stay private

Rehnix is a retrieval tool. It moves files straight from the provider to your computer. It never looks inside the records: no scanning, no analysis, and no AI at any point. It sends nothing to us or anyone else apart from activating your license, once. The only connection it makes is to the records provider.

Rehnix writes a log of each retrieval into the case folder: when it ran, the server it connected to, and each file's name, size and fingerprint. The log records the transfer, not the contents.

So you can finish an interrupted download, or run a recent one again, even after the zip has been moved or deleted, Rehnix also keeps an encrypted copy of the credentials zip on your computer for 30 days, then deletes it. You can shorten that, or turn it off, in Settings.

Questions

Does Rehnix log into my records request platform for me?

No. You still log into the platform yourself, locate the record, and pay for it. Rehnix takes over once you have the zip file the platform generates โ€” that's the part we handle.

Why can't Rehnix handle the login and payment too?

That step requires your own account credentials and payment, and the platform has to generate a unique SFTP key for each record request. That part stays on the platform's side by necessity.

How does Rehnix help my law practice?

Rehnix replaces the SFTP software you'd otherwise have to install, configure and run yourself. No extracting the key, no entering connection details by hand, and no sorting downloads into a folder for the case.

Can I choose where the records go, and what they're called?

You name the folder the records are saved in, such as the client or case name, so they're organized from the moment they land. You can also add a prefix to every file name. The files keep the names the provider gave them, so they still match the provider's records.

Is this a subscription?

No. Rehnix is a one-time purchase per seat, including a year of updates. After that it keeps working with no fees, and renewing updates is up to you, at $25 per seat per year.

What if my records request platform changes something on their end?

We update Rehnix when a provider changes its system. Updates are included for the first year after purchase, and you can renew them for $25 per seat per year. If you don't renew, you can keep using, and download again, any version released while your updates were active, for as long as the provider's system stays compatible with it.

What if I get a new computer?

Install Rehnix on it and activate it with the same license file. Each seat allows new computers as people replace them, up to five in any 12 months. If Rehnix can't add a computer yet, it tells you the date it can; email support@jextterenterprises.com if you need it sooner.

Is there a Mac version?

Not yet. Rehnix is available for Windows only.

Are the records secure?

Rehnix connects directly to the provider and saves the records straight to your computer. Nothing passes through us: we never receive, see or store the records. Rehnix never analyzes them and uses no AI. The credentials zip is effectively a key to the records, so the copy Rehnix keeps for finishing or repeating a download is encrypted, and deleted after 30 days.

Which platforms does Rehnix work with?

Rehnix works with ChartSwap Insights SFTP delivery as of October 2026, and we plan to add other providers that deliver records the same way. If yours isn't supported yet, contact us at support@jextterenterprises.com. Hearing which providers firms use is how we choose what to add next.

Does Rehnix work with every medical records vendor?

No. Rehnix works with the providers it supports, currently ChartSwap Insights. Some vendors deliver records a different way, for example as a PDF attachment or a direct download, and those don't need Rehnix. Contact us if you're not sure about yours.

Does Rehnix create a chain of custody record for auditing?

Yes. Each retrieval writes a log into the case folder: when it ran, the server it connected to and that server's identity, and each file's name, size and SHA-256 fingerprint, which shows whether a file has changed since it was downloaded. So you have an audit trail if a question ever comes up about how and when a file was obtained. Most of the time you won't need it; the records themselves are authenticated by the medical office that issued them.
